T.E.A.M. Together Everyone Achieves More…
One of the best ways to get a team of people
working together is to ad “a bit of adventure” and a “natural
environment” into the mix. Every group has a different “plan for
success” … regardless of the team or individuals' desire, capacity
or propensity to have a go and take a risk, we can design a package
to meet the needs of your organization. Packages can include a wide
range of activities, like the Teambuilding Ropes Course, Whitewater
Rafting, Horseback Riding, Mountain Biking, Caving, Sailing,
Water-skiing, Rock-Climbing, Team Golf competitions for Corporate
Retreats, Family Re-Unions, Association Conferences, At-Risk youth
programs and Athletic Teambuilding programs…
Each and every activity is designed
for individual and group participation regardless of age, physical
limitation and ability level. Adventure education also promotes
calculated risk-taking, enhances leadership and management skills,
facilities organizational change, and builds effective teams.
All activities, including the Ropes
Course are non-competitive in nature and based on a Challenge By
Choice philosophy. All activities are voluntary. The decision to
participate empowers people to perform to their potential freely and
without pressure.
Athletic Teams
UNIVERSITY, COLLEGE, HIGH
SCHOOL, JR HIGH, MIDDLE SCHOOL, ELEMENTARY
SCHOOLS, SPORT PROGRAMS, COACH TRAININGS
Every TEAM can enhance their bond and
success strategies through enhanced team-building, team-work,
team-bonding activities. T.E.A.M. stands for “Together EVERYONE
Achieves More and every team benefits from “achieving more”. Each
team needs to have a common goal, vision, mission and purpose.
Weather sitting on the bench or being the top performer and
everywhere in between, every participant will benefit from
participating in an experiential program to increase team success.
Challenge Courses, Low and High Ropes
courses, Vision-Mission-Purpose workshops and initiative games and
activities designed to empower the WHOLE TEAM will guarantee more
cohesive play and success.

engaging into a Teambuilding Retreat. Although in a more
“cooperative” model of doing business, all groups, organizations and
associations will become more connected and work more efficiently as
a team.
What is a Ropes Challenge
Course? The Ropes Challenge
Course is one of the most effective ways to unite, bond and empower
groups, teams, families, at-risk youth and corporations. A
Teambuilding ~ Ropes Course is a series of outdoor team building
activities that challenge your team members to work very effectively
together.
Modeled under “Experiential
Education” and “Adventure Empowerment”, Ropes Courses are designed
and engineered to physically, emotionally and mentally challenge the
individual and group. Activities traditionally known to Wilderness
and Adventure enthusiasts, the Ropes Challenge Courses are proving
convenient access to adventure-type activities with a learning
emphasis within urban environments.
Teambuilding Ropes Courses invite
“Intentional groups” to “choose in” for an experience-based learning
retreat. All programs are “custom-designed” to meet each groups
goals and are set up as Half-Day programs to Multi- Day retreats.
Every activity is set up as “Challenge by Choice” in a series of
activities which increase in difficulty and focus in cooperation
with the “Team Goal” and participants' physical and intellectual
capabilities.

So … Tell me more
There are two types of activities are
involved in the Ropes Challenge Course … all involving trust and
support. Initially we will facilitate Strategic Games – Low Ropes
Initiatives that are done at ground level and then gradually “step
up” to the High Element activities that range from 3 feet to 50+
feet above the ground. All activities have a purpose and goal behind
the lesson. Some may be designed for bonding, trusting, creative
thinking and problem solving.
Initiative & Low Ropes Course
These physical and mental activities
encourage cooperation, communication and problem-solving skills,
leading to mutual support and trust within the group. Some of these
activities may involve more perceived risk and challenge and include
props such as wooden platforms, boards, ropes and cables.
High Ropes Course
The high elements are designed to
provide a more individual challenge and to build self-confidence
while still relying on the group support system. These activities
include climbing and are anywhere from 20 to 50+ feet off the ground
with a safety “belay” system used with each activity.
Sample Agenda:
-
Welcome, Goals and Safety Guidelines
– To get everyone on the same page
-
Ice-Breakers and Energizers - To help
the participants to let down their guard and to get people into a
spirit of fun and participation
-
Trust Activities - Gives people an
opportunity to build trust, practice accountability, tell the truth,
and ask for support
-
Communication Activities – Group
activities where the group will be risk taking, strategic planning,
open communication and group cohesiveness.
-
Leap of Faith ~ Eagles Perch -
Participants climb a 30 foot pole (while harnessed into a double
belay line safety system), stand on a small platform, and leap off
the top. They are then gently lowered back to the ground by their
team-mates.
-
Mission Statement – Group will design
a Mission – Vision – Purpose statement that everyone can agree with
and participate in.
-
Closing Ceremony – Unity,
Future-Pacing and Bonding
From A Learning Perspective Our provocative ropes course and team building
programs are very effective tools for impacting your people’s
leadership and team skills. Your people will develop a greater
understanding and appreciation of their performance strengths and
limitations.Issues of group norms, change,
conflict management, decision-making, risk taking and planning can
be addressed through these activity-based workplace team building
simulations.
From A Fun Perspective
Your participants will have a blast
on our both our high ropes and low ropes courses. They will get to
know each other deeper and faster that any other experience can
offer. They will walk away motivated and realizing their ability to
accomplish things they never thought possible.
Custom – Designed Programs
Programs can be designed to meet any
of a variety of needs, from training and developmental, to
motivation, bonding and positive risk-taking for healthy living.
Each program is designed to support your goals…therefore we do not
have “pre-designed” programs. Each group is different and each
environment needs special attention. We will interview you, evaluate
your goals and design a program that will empower your group to more
success.
If you prefer, we can also bring our
mobile training course to you … your campus, your area, your program
or your corporate office. A normal experience on the teambuilding
course will begin with field initiatives, and progress through 3 - 6
physical challenges on the course to be accomplished by group
interaction. We can create the experience you need.

Theory
behind Ropes Challenge Courses The
underlying psychological and educational assumption behind Ropes
Challenge Courses is that if a person is supported to move out of
his/her comfort zone, and has a successful experience, then powerful
conditions exist for positive change. This is a "development-by-
Research on Ropes Challenge Courses
Currently, the best research reference with regard to the efficacy
of ropes courses for effecting psychosocial change is the
meta-analysis by Camille Bunting and John Donley, a poster presented
at the Bradford Woods Research Symposium (2002). Unfortunately, the
study remains unpublished.
Here's
a summary of their study
Bunting and Donley (2002) compiled the findings of 15 empirical
studies of the effects of ropes challenge course programs and found
a moderate positive on self and team development (d = .55). This is
an impressive effect size (compared with the average effect size of
.3 to .4 for other outdoor education research), however the sample
of studies is limited. Nevertheless, it represents a significant
forward in developing a scientific understanding of the impacts and
potential of Ropes Challenge Course programming for enhancing
self-perceptions and team functioning.
Note:
To date, the organization, dissemination and communication of
research findings about the educational and psychological effects of
ropes challenge courses has been limited. This is partly due to the
relatively recent development of ropes courses and the rapid changes
in the industry with regard to engineering, construction,
curriculum, instruction, training, professionalism, etc. As these
issues are gradually worked through, there is increasing attention
being paid to the educational and psychological aspects of ropes
challenge courses.
